ABOUT US:

WHy REMNANTZ?

REMNANTZ is a high energy classic and hard rock driven band from Ohio. Their vocalist, Dana Vox, is originally from Detroit--and a proud Michigander raised on the influences of rock, motown, and metal. Wayne Barger (guitar) and Randy Scott (bass) have been the driving force of the band for over a decade.

REMNANTZ found its name after years of forming the band from members of other local bands. Their following is full of gems who find passion in music and family. If you love rock, and the simplicity of raw, real, and passionate sound and people--then you'll love the REMNANTZ family.

Dana always wondered where the inspiration for the name stemmed from. Randy's trade was a tailor and he explained that "remnants" was a term used to describe pieces of fabric left behind from larger projects.

"We are the bits and pieces left behind. The misfits who are a little odd--but still good. Slap a "Z" on the end and there you go: WE ARE REMNANTZ."

DANA VOX

Vocalist

Dana is an aspiring lawyer, musician, and poet. She is a proud Michigander originally from Detroit-- the rock city. She obtained her law degree from the University of Toledo and hopes to use it in serving as an advocate for artists, youth, and small business owners--while also building her platform as an artist.

Her influences include various artists from motown, classic rock, 80's metal, glam rock, and gospel. She grew up competing in vocal competitions and festivals across the midwest--as well as enjoying many years in musical theater. One of her most memorable experiences was competing in and winning the National Cherry Festival Idol in middle school. "I had just gotten rejected from an artist agency in New York at the time. But winning that festival and visiting the sites of Michigan gave me the little push I needed to keep going." She loves her community, and proudly represents her people and state by always rocking some cherry themed attire on stage.

"I was actually extremely socially awkward when I was little. So my parents pushed me into the arts and theater. The first song I ever tried to sing outside church was "Black Velvet" by Alannah Myles. I'm thankful for that push. I don't think I would have gone to law school or found a passion in performance and music without it. I went from a girl who would cry when someone spoke to me--to best oralist in my law school class who genuinely enjoys sharing my passion with crowds-- music is my medicine."
